Why having a more mindful approach to life helps with mental health.
We often rush to work, a baseball game , a dinner, or even a family barbeque. I believe that if we slow down with getting to our destinations and being more mindful of being in the moment, our mental health can improve, and we won't be stressed about getting somewhere so quickly. Furthermore, during my time on how having a more mindful approach to life can help with mental health, I read an article published by the National Health Service.
As I was reading this article published by the National Health Service, I began to learn that “mindfulness brings your attention to your thoughts feelings” (NHS inform, 2025). Additionally when we begin to pay attention to our thoughts and feelings we also put ourselves in the “driver seat” of taking noticing what makes us happy and what makes us upset. Taking the time to notice what makes us happy and what makes us upset also improves our mental health because then we know how to take time out of the day to focus on ourselves.
How can you begin to practice mindfulness?
Reading a new book about a topic you love.
Go for a walk on the beach that way the fresh salt air and the sound of the waves can ease your mind.
Spend time with friends and being fully present with them.
Sit at a park, and think about everything you both see and smell.
